A wonderful, experience with this father and son team.
Corby Old Village is situated in Northamptonshire, East Midlands. Once upon a time it was known as “Little Scotland”. The reason for this name being given to the town is due to the significant number of Scottish workers who came to its steelworks. Corby Old Village has gone through a reconstruction transformation with Corby Railway Station and Corby International Pool opening as well as the Corby Cube offering many local community amenities.
Corby Old Village has changed over the years from a rural village to an industrial town. Iron Ore was at the heart of the village back in Roman times. An ironstone industry then evolved in the 19th century. The town grew rapidly and formed an integrated ironstone and steel works which in 1934 drew workers in from all over the country. The first steel production was in late 1935 and for decades after dominated the towns production. Many years later however, the town saw a decline in the steel industry.
